Ra-ghv R-ma-dya (He/Him)
I'm currently building a crypto network for reputation modeling that power consumer products and applications for DePIN and DeFi networks as well as Real World Assets. I previously led product & engineering at Protocol Labs with a focus on risk & compliance efforts to scale decentralized data storage solutions for the Filecoin Network. I'm a dog dad, a city fanatic, and an EDM enthusiast always on a hunt for juxtaposed examples of art and music.
My theory of change
Growing up between Nepal and India, I was deeply impacted by social inequity and poverty I saw around me which led me to explore the fields of economics and public policy to find fixes, only to realize that the existing systems are broken beyond repair and the current incentives are majorly misaligned. The designers of these systems are constrained by bureaucracy (read gatekeepers) in the physical world. While accretive efforts are needed to prevent these systems for falling apart overnight (they eventually and inevitably will), I see the need to imagine, experiment, and deploy entirely new systems in parallel, often not as replacements but as feasible alternatives. Fortunately, the digital world, powered by emerging technologies, offers an exciting playground to do so with (almost) limitless creativity.
Blockchain-enabled open-source networks such as Filecoin are examples of such playgrounds with its own economy, policy-makers, citizens and so on. In my opinion, The Network State is inevitable and we will see more an more digital first countries being launch in the coming years. It is in our best interest to balance the creative freedom with constraints that are important to tame problems and systems, especially the wicked ones.
This balancing act will require structured & intentional collaboration at multiple levels and with diverse forms of agents, both human and autonomous, to bridge the gaps between the physical and digital worlds.
